The first 2 months..belated!
Well as we have been travelling too much to take his baby book with us, I thought this a better way to try and recall all Finley's developments. Pklus when he's grown there will be a whole BLOG of embarassing pics to show his girlfriend...
1st hat-cute little yellow hand knit given to him in the operating theatre. Lovely design, sort of a whorl on the top.
1st teddy was from Michelle, in the hospital, closely followed by a lamb from Brian.
1st drive was in Brian's car from the hospital, with me in the back with him & Brian following in my wee car. Pete drove SO slowly and carefully, and we were annoyed at noisy cars going past incase they woke Finley...
1st sit in his bouncy chair the day after we got home; he was so small we had to fold the straps over and stuff around him with blankets or toys to stop him slipping out/ keeling over.
1st go in his baby sling was at 3 days old the 1st Saturday he was home...

Sat 25th - Mum, Trina, Finley- 4 days old, 1st try in Maya baby sling

OK; so 1st party was at Brian's the weekend a couple of days after he came home, with Brian, Mum, Sue & (Great) Gran Hammond, Tim & Heather, Aunt Caroline & John.
Then the next day (sunday)we had his 1st return to hospital for several days with dehydration & jaundice!
The Godfathers & Finley about to go off to the midwife for his 5 day old checkup.

In the lovely private room on th3e children's ward he did his 1st explosive nappy and woke usboth up - turned his babygrow green from the waist down!
1st trip to the library was in Acle, he slept through it. Snored, actually. Ditto his 1st shopping trip to Norwich with mum & I.
1st bath was at Brian's too, on the kitchen table I think, and like many that followed was NOT appreciated.
This pic looks like his 2nd (or so!) bath as he has the weird rash that the Doctor sent us back into hospital for.....
His 1st young people party was Halloween with the Hammond cousins - 10 days old!

wee James bought a baby beret back from his school trip to Paris for Finley - still a bit big!

1st pub: the weekend my Dad & Janet came over - we went to the brewery pub that supplied the beer for our hand-fasting. And Finley got red wine & the rest of our drinks accidentally splashed onto him.
1st visit to the farm was Petes b'day, I think...
1st snowman built by mum & Brian.

Cat "Look at all this snow and the FAB snowman your grandparents built for you" Finley " Shutup, take me inside and FEED ME!"

To begin with he slept in his crib beside our bed, in his wee sleeping bags when he got big enough not to drown in them.
Finleys Lumilove - changes colour to calm him & means we can check him in the dark

For the 1st 6 weeks he woke up like clockwork every 2 hrs max, to get fed, and went back to sleep. By about 3 weeks he was having a full bottle (the mini square ones that fit the pump) every other feed.
What was interesting was watching him slowly uncurl and stretch out - not so much growing but more realising he didn't have to stay curled up any more. E.g. he was able to 'hold' his own tiny bottle, originally, as his fists and arms stayed clenched on his chest. Every few days he seemed to have crept a few inches further up the cot when we put him to sleep with his feet touching the bottom end, as you were told to....
